The Vice Provincial's letter to the Salesian Family:
April 17, 2014
Dear Brother and Sister Salesians,
Today we enter the Sacred Triduum on Holy Thursday and live with Jesus through his passion and suffering and rising to a new life on Resurrection Sunday. In our province we look forward to signs of resurrection, that God has called us to the better living out of our Salesian vocation in every circumstance of our lives.
With Fr. Timothy Ploch, Regional, may it be a Resurrection sign that we as a province will benefit from his closeness to us and his experience of the province. With his leadership we move forward examining and focusing the province in the footsteps of Don Bosco.
The 27th General Chapter concluded on Saturday, April 11, 2014, calling the Salesian Society to a conversion and change of heart that expresses our true love of God, our lives of fraternity and our service to the young. Br. Al Vu will be our immediate source of knowledge and inspiration from the General Chapter.
Our own Province Assembly Days, with the grace of the Resurrection, invite us to accept the redimensioning process that has absorbed our thinking for the past several months and prepared us for a radical living of Gospel teaching.
Another moment of prayer for us is the coming of Fr. Esteban Ortiz who will lead us at PAD in a process of discernment and consultation for the appointment of a new provincial. A shortened process with all consultations in Rome before May 31, 2014.
May all these signs of development and new life lead us continually to the Resurrected Christ.
